My experience with the staff is exceptional but the car that I purchased is and was a lemon. I had two vehicles that I had issues with where one transmission was shot not a week of having it. Then the second vehicle I got from CarMax the motor went out not even two years of having the car and they stated to me nothing could be done.

I purchased a car at South Austin carmax and my buying experience was exceptional. Jalen my sales associate was very easy to work with and provided me with a no hassle approach to buying. Later i visited the service department and Jarrett the manager made me feel like a valued customer and went out of his way to personally ensure everything i needed was completed in a timely manner. I was in and out within 15 minutes. While i waited Alan and Donna were great conversationalist while keeping me informed on what was included with my purchase. The entire staff provided me with a next level customer experience and were great examples of carmax commitment to customer service. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.

I’ve been a loyal CarMax customer for over 10 years and have purchased three vehicles from them, and I can confidently say that Terron, the Satellite Ops Manager in the service department, is absolutely phenomenal. During my most recent purchase, I was understandably cautious given the current economy. I completed the process online with an express pickup, but when I arrived, I experienced some initial issues with the vehicle and an unpleasant interaction with another associate. After continued miscommunication, I asked to escalate the matter—and that’s when I met Terron. Although the circumstances weren’t ideal, working with Terron was a true blessing. Because the vehicle is an older model, several follow-up appointments were needed to address various issues. Every single time, Terron was timely, communicative, flexible, patient, and completely on top of everything. He made sure all of my concerns were handled thoroughly and professionally. Hands down, he is the best CarMax employee I’ve worked with in my 10+ years as a customer. His leadership, energy, and commitment to customer satisfaction truly stand out. If you visit this location, you’ll be in great hands.

I am very grateful to the staff at CarMax South Austin! Not only did they help me secure the vehicle I wanted, but they also helped me with trading in my previous vehicle. Amazing experience with CarMax at the South Austin location as a first-time car buyer. I was welcomed and assisted immediately by the staff and had the pleasure of working with Toby Libby to find the perfect vehicle for my needs. The pricing was great, and the transparency and clarity Toby and the team provided throughout the process were excellent. As a first-time car buyer, this was definitely an intimidating endeavor, but the service, environment, and overall buying process here were truly a breath of fresh air by comparison to other dealers. I was even assisted with finalizing my car insurance at the time of sale! Absolutely pleased with and grateful for the entire team there and a huge thank you to Toby Libby!
