Humza Chowdhry 2 months agoJust bought my first car yesterday from CarMax and had an amazing experience thanks to Justin! From start to finish, he was professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful without any pressure. He made the whole process smooth and actually enjoyable, which says a lot when buying a car. I drove off in my new Chevy Silverado EV and couldn’t be happier. Justin took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I felt confident every step of the way. If you’re thinking about buying a car, definitely ask for Justin — he’ll take great care of you!
Google Prose 2 weeks agoI am extremely disappointed with my experience at CarMax. Our company purchased a vehicle from CarMax because we believed we were dealing with a reputable company that stood behind its vehicles and customer service. During the purchase process, concerns were raised about the vehicle’s A/C not cooling properly, along with cosmetic scratches on the exterior. We were assured by the sales staff that these issues would be addressed and that someone would contact us to schedule the necessary service after the sale. That never happened. Weeks went by without any communication. We called multiple times to follow up and were repeatedly told that someone would review the situation and contact us. Despite these promises, we never received a callback or any effort to schedule the service that had been discussed. What made the situation even more frustrating was that we returned to CarMax ready to purchase two additional vehicles for our business. Before moving forward, we simply wanted to resolve the outstanding issue from our previous purchase. Instead of finding a solution, we were met with excuses, a lack of accountability, and an attitude that made it seem like our concerns no longer mattered because the sale had already been completed. A company should be judged not by how it treats customers before the sale, but by how it treats them afterward. Anyone can provide good customer service when a purchase is being made. The real test comes when a customer needs help and expects the company to honor its commitments. The vehicle issue itself was not the biggest problem. Mechanical issues and cosmetic imperfections can happen with any used vehicle. The biggest disappointment was the failure to follow through on promises, the lack of communication, and the unwillingness to take responsibility when given multiple opportunities to make things right. Because of this experience, our company decided not to purchase the additional vehicles we were considering. More importantly, CarMax lost our trust. When a business fails to honor its word, it becomes difficult to have confidence in anything else they promise. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced us to take our future business elsewhere.
Aiden 2 months agoCame in to test drive a car, and left not wanting anything to do with the place. I show up at 4 for an appointment and I’m told there’s a few people ahead of me to test drive, which isn’t a problem. I get a call about 10 minutes into waiting from the CarMax call center all while a salesman is trying to reach me about the test drive. I go up to the front and the Salesman there looks frustrated at me, as if it’s my fault that two different CarMax numbers called me at the exact same time. The salesman asks what I’m here for, I say “Test Drive”, he then asks the make and model, and asks again why I’m here, like I’m choosing to loiter at CarMax of all places. He says to follow him, and looks visibly frustrated. He asks, “Are you just test driving or are you buying?” First of all, I’m not sure if the salesman follows a script, but phrasing the question like that doesn’t make any sense and is a horrible way to try to make a sale. If you question my motives with a test drive that the company constantly advertises, and look annoyed that I’m test driving, then why would I buy after the test drive? Second, I would’ve loved to ask the salesman if he tries on shoes before he buys them, or if he just spends the money no questions asked. I was very much considering financing the car, but after seeing how annoyed he was I figured I should just let it go. And instead purchase a car at a different dealership after I leave. I asked how his day was going to try and salvage any positive experience here. He replies “It’s busy. A lot of people BUYING cars.” He made sure to emphasize it like that, because I was obviously wasting his time with the grueling task of a test drive, which again, CarMax advertises. As I was getting my proof of insurance ready, I realized that I should just spare the both of us. He seemed very busy and I must’ve been wasting his time. So I just left and told him to have a great rest of his day. Overall, I spent 30 minutes there and didn’t get to test drive the car with an appointment. At least now I know not to waste time here.
Katie Wara 2 months agoCarMax made it simple to sell my car. Did pre paperwork online and was in and out of my onsite appointment within 20 minutes. Their offer was significantly higher than the dealerships were giving me. Highly recommend.
